Error in UK Government ‘Online Divorce form’ has forced up to Twenty thousand divorced couple to return to the court and renegotiate their separation case. It is understood that the error in the Software was unnoticed for 20 months. The error was noticed by Nicola Matheson-Durrant, a family law specialist.
In the ‘Ministry of Justice’ website, a Form which asks for information’s of spouse’s property, pension, insurance and other assets, failed to take in to account the debt or liabilities and so producing a wrong and inflated figure.
A spokesman for HM Courts and Tribunals Service person said: “We are urgently investigating this issue. Officials are taking steps to identify rapidly cases where this regrettable error may have had an impact, and we will be writing to anyone affected as soon as possible.
